Giving Examples Help People Understand

(Teamtix, 2016)
Ever had an idea or point that you were trying to come across but didn’t have the right words to express yourself? We have all been there, and that's why examples are a tool we like to use when it is hard to explain something.

We use examples in everything. Teachers use examples in their lessons (Math, Science, English). We use examples in our day to day language when having a normal conversation. We use examples as a way of storytelling. Examples are another way of giving your idea the extra push or support it needs. For example (no pun intended) if you are at a job interview and you say you are a very organized person, you wouldn’t just stop there. You would give an example showing why and how you are organized.

Giving examples engages your people skills. It helps you become a people person because giving examples is a part of normal conversation. Knowing when to use the right example is important as well. Just like with storytelling, if you give an example of a scenario that is very closely related to the listeners situation, it will help them be interested. Giving examples, can be fun and easy to use. You just have to know when to use them and what exact example to use. This is closely tied with storytelling because like storytelling, you have to know what exact story to tell that will intrigue the listener and make an impact in their life.

Hope my thoughts reached out to you, don't forget to comment and share!
