Hey everyone! Today I will be talking about the reasons why I love my accounting program. I will begin by telling my backstory before entering this program. At first, I was in Guelph-Humber for a very general business administration program. I completed 2 years there and I was not enjoying my program at all. I was far from home, and during my time there I was not focused as I had managed to make bad friends. I wanted a fresh start and so I spoke to my older brother who is a Sheridan alumni. He told me about his experience at Sheridan and insisted me to get more information. I did my research and quickly decided to apply to the accounting program. At my time at Guelph-Humber, I was only interested in my accounting classes. At that time, I had only taken the first two accounting courses. That was the only course that interested me. When I applied to Sheridan, I applied for the accounting diploma initially. After completing the two years, I then decided to go for the BBA degree. I r...

Hi everyone! Today I'll be talking about the things I've learned in my Customer Service position. I currently work at the Sheridan Student Union and have had this job since summer 2018. I am very fortunate to obtain this job as I believe it is the ideal job for a student to have while studying. At this position, I have learned many interpersonal skills such as communicating and explaining policies and rules to students. Whenever a student has a question regarding clubs, events, marketing, and student health care plans, I am the one to answer all their questions. It is important for me to answer everyone's questions in a professional manner as I am representing the school and the student union. Before obtaining this position, I was given training from the previous customer service representatives. I have learned to remain clam in tense situations. This is important because once you remain calm then the other person will automatically revert to calming themselves down...

Hello everyone! Today I will be talking about my favorite comedians. I feel like comedy is an element that everyone desires to have in their lives. When I am personally upset about something, I usually like to put on my favorite comedy show and laugh away. This allows my brain to lighten up and realize not everything needs to be so serious. This makes my mood happier and allows me to get back to work in a more positive way. I have a tie between my 3 favorite comedians. 1) Louis C.K 2) Bill Burr 3) Chris D'Elia Louis C.K is my all time favorite comedian as I have been following his stand up work for a long time. About 2 years ago, I had the opportunity to see him live in downtown Toronto at the Royal Massey Hall. It was amazing to see him perform completely new material as I believe he is a comedic genius. His humor might not be for everyone as it can get very dark and explicit. However, I think his humor has a lot of intelligence to it as many of his jokes are lessons he...

(Got Credit, 2015) When you are trying to give advice to someone you must put yourself in their shoes and then share your thoughts. It is really easy to judge without thinking about the other person’s situation. However, there might be something that that person is doing which you completely disagree with, but there are ways of showing what you agree and disagree with in a friendly and informative tone. When giving advice that you think will hurt the other person or will go against their beliefs, perhaps share a story to help lighten the mood. The person listening to you will respect the fact that you are not rude and arrogant in expressing yourself but rather careful and lighthearted in regards to what you say. When you share a story it shows your point of view in a very light way, and that is a great way to give advice. When you share personal exper...
